From Sunday May 3 to Saturday May 9, 2009 across the United States and Canada, composting advocates will be encouraging everyone to Compost! The Solana Center will be celebrating Compost Awareness Week by holding a free composting workshop on Saturday, May 9th.

The International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) Committee of the US Composting Council invites YOU to get involved in the 2nd Annual ICAW Poster Contest — Everyone is invited to participate: municipal, facility, and state agency representatives, students (grade school, middle school, college), homeowners, commercial composters, green industry businesses, youth groups! The 2009 theme is “Compost!…Recycling The Way Nature Meant It To Be”.

The poster contest challenges ALL OF US to express our belief in the composting industry and benefits of using compost. The winning poster will be used to promote the 14th Annual International Compost Awareness Week, May 3-9, 2009.173

The contest begins on December 5, 2008 and continues until January 30, 2009.
